In 2012, the Lake Tahoe SummerFest organization was created to become a world-renowned celebration of the arts to enrich the cultural, educational and economic vitality of Lake Tahoe and Northern Nevada. The first goal was to create a destination for lovers of classical music by providing exceptional classical music concerts performed at the highest level. That goal was achieved — on day one!
Under the leadership of Artistic Director and Conductor Joel Revzen, Classical Tahoe has assembled a virtuoso orchestra of musicians from the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Seattle and Dallas Symphonies, LA Phil and Reno Phil and other exceptional orchestras throughout the world. The festival has become a sought-after gathering and experience for our orchestra musicians who return year after year. Our audience is thrilled by the level of artistry and small-tent setting both of which provide an intimate experience with our orchestra and musicians before, during and after the performance. Classical Tahoe’s intimacy is unlike any other festival of this quality in the world.
