The Yuba-Sutter-Colusa United Way and it’s 27 Partner Agencies serve, in an average month, more than 15,500 unduplicated persons in Yuba, Sutter and Colusa counties!
Since 1968, local businesses and individuals have donated millions of dollars through direct donations and employee payroll deductions to benefit tens-of-thousands of men, women and children in need through the “Community Chest” program. In fact, during the past 10 years alone, nearly $5,000,000 has been raised, with 98 percent of that money staying locally to improve the quality of life for people in Yuba, Sutter and Colusa counties.
Through the “Community Chest” program you can designate your donation to one of our Partner Agencies or to any IRS registered non-profit organization – local, national, or international – and monies are forwarded by Yuba-Sutter-Colusa United Way to those organizations for a small processing fee.
Undesignated donations are shared between the new “Born Learning Academy” program and the 27 local non-profit “Partner Agencies” serving this area’s children, families and individuals.
United Way Born Learning Academy is a public engagement campaign helping parents, caregivers and communities create early learning opportunities for young children. Designed to support parents in their critical role as a child’s first teacher, Born Learning educational materials have been available through the efforts of United Way since 2005 benefitting 5 million families! Yuba-Sutter-Colusa United Way is planning to begin the Born Learning Academy in the Spring of 2022.
